A daughter of African immigrants, Mona Kosar Abdi has been involved in multimedia journalism for nearly a decade. On her personal side, she once revealed her wish of getting married to her husband in Grand Del Mar.

Mona Kosar Abdi is an American journalist, currently serving as the Correspondent at ABC News. She appears as the co-anchor of ABC World News Now and America this Morning on the network.

Her Journey To ABC News

Mona began her career in 2012 from KGTV Channel 10, an ABC-affiliated television station based in San Diego. Earlier, she was an Assignment Editor and later promoted to an Associate Producer News Writer. Moreover, she had a brief stint with Al Jazeera, where she worked as a contributing writer.

From 2014 to 2017, she worked as a reporter at WSET-TV ABC 13 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Afterward, she joined WEWS-TV News 5 in Cleveland, Ohio, and worked for two years until 2019. Abdi then joined ABC News in Washington DC as their overnight anchor for World News Now. Currently, she anchors the overnight/early morning World News Now and America This Morning alongside co-host Kenneth Moton. Additionally, she serves as a Correspondent for the network-based out of Washington DC.
